Dear suitcase, why are you so small? I have to pack my life in you and you really don't have more space? I should have brought much more luggage! Hey who will help me carry that around?

STOP now dear traveler – Keep it simple.
For you who travel and change home often!
It is not only about packing smart, it is also about being smart. It starts with you!
With your own needs and what things in your life that really has a deep meaning. Something you cannot live without and something that makes you feel at home and safe.
This I have had to learn after traveling every three months and moving to new countries every six months. And for those who don’t know me, I always have a favorite in everything single thing: Clothes, shoes, bags, hair products, cosmetics, creams etc.
It had to stop!
Whether it was smaller trips from 7 to 14 days or moving my whole life, I had to find the best way to be that young lady with the smartest way of packing and still have the option of my favorite products for future me and at the same time feel home. This was a challenge, but here are the tips I found by trial and error along the way.

My advice for keeping your baggage:

simple, classy, careful, smart and homely.

  • Find an all-in-one cleanser, rinse and make up remover. If the all-in-one cleanser doesn’t appeal to you, make up remover napkins are also very good. They are perfect for cabin baggage since they aren’t liquid. If you travel to a country where you can’t get your favorite -then don’t hold back on that, but get a smaller size. A lot of brands have travel sizes now.
It can be smart to bring a smaller bottle you know you’ll be able to use up by the end of your trip so you don’t have to take it with you to the next destination.
  • Use oil. Choose oil that can be used to body, hair and face. If you can’t find one to all of it – then choose small bottles. Remember to prioritize natural things and your skin will thank you later. Also, did you know that oil could be used instead of shaving cream all over your body? Win win! Healthier for your skin and a bottles less to pack/buy.
  • Be critical with your shoes.I know it’s difficult. This might be my biggest challenge every time I travel. All you really need is:

A pair of sneakers, flat pretty sandal, practical sandals and one pair of high heals.

Then you have everything!
Of course, if you are more a sneaker girl, then you skip one of the sandals or the high heal. Just remember not to add another pair of shoes. If you think even smarter, you can bring less shoes and buy them in the place you travel to.
  • Personal small items; When you have to move country as often as I do and have done for some years, it is super important with items that make me feel at home. I can only travel with 30-40kg for 6 months so I have learned to be selective. My personal items for feel home:
    • Royal Copenhagen cup
    • Picture of my Mother
    • Picture of one of my best friend
    • Picture of dear ones who passed away
    • A book with quotes or a personal development book
    • A duvet from my home in Denmark
    • My Tea from DK or from Crete
Roll or layer.
We all love a mix right? I have also always researched what is the best. But when I am traveling it is a mix. It makes sense to roll the things that get small when you roll it, but Jeans and a Denim jacket or a very good and heavy dress is not easy to roll and they are better as a layer.
ps. a good tip is put all sucks down in shoes because the space in shoes is actually also space. Good for your clothes and for space is also to buy those vacuum bags and pack your clothes in that. Buy them in a big store (like Ikea, Jumbo or something similar), on the web or even when you’re abroad. There they will be much cheaper than in regular stores in Scandinavian countries, and if you save on this, you’ll have a lot more to spend on exciting adventures or things once you’re at your destination!
